Medicall Ambulance Service, a private ambulance service based in Dublin, has achieved the Freight Transport Association Ireland VanSafe standard, which gives recognition to van operators for managing and maintaining their commercial fleet to the highest standards as well as providing the necessary training for their drivers.
As an emergency services business, the road-worthiness and standards of the company’s vehicles is a key priority for Medicall, and as Eoin Cullen, Operations Manager, explains: “Medicall is delighted to have achieved the VanSafe standard because we take our legal obligations very seriously.
“We are in the business of transferring patients, some seriously ill, to and from hospitals and it is absolutely vital that they have confidence in the standard and quality of our fleet of vehicles to ensure their comfort and security during the journey.”
Aidan Flynn, General Manager of FTA Ireland said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Medicall, who demonstrate a consistent approach to road safety and operational compliance. Medicall provides a service that requires speedy response and this is reliant on the highest standards of road-worthiness and professionalism. Vansafe members demonstrate a commitment to safe, compliant and efficient operations.”
