Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership starts a new ‘CouchTo2K’ four-week progamme on 27 April, and those who sign up will receive weekly plans, a video of a warm up/cool down and some helpful tips. 

Taking up jogging can seem like a daunting prospect especially if you feel out of shape or unfit. This programme is a mix of walking and jogging to gradually build up fitness and stamina level.

Those who register on Eventbrite will receive a weekly plan, with a short video of a warm up/cool down and some helpful tips. There will also be regularly checks either by email or phone to see how participants are getting on.

DLR’s Cathaoirleach, Cllr Shay Brennan, said that during these ongoing necessary Covid-19 restrictions, people need to mind their physical and mental health as best they can. “This guided ‘CouchTo2K’ initiative is ideal for kick-starting a really beneficial new exercise regime. I encourage anybody who is not already getting daily exercise to sign up,” he added.
